Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Program Details:

Schedule: PHP operates 5 days per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Psychotherapy: Each patient is assigned a primary therapist who is responsible for facilitating weekly psychotherapy sessions and coordination of treatment.

Psychiatry: You will have access to medication management by an MD board-certified in psychiatry.

Individual therapy: The PHP includes individual therapy with 1 session of psychotherapy with your primary therapist and 1 session of nutrition therapy with the dietitian per week. If you are already in therapy, the treatment team will remain in close contact with your other providers. It is strongly recommended that you sign a release of information to communicate with any outside providers.

Nutritional Counseling: The nutrition program is meant to support you from disordered eating to a healthy relationship with food and to provide structure that promotes meeting treatment goals while gradually transitioning to eating with less support. The goal of nutritional counseling is maintaining stabilization and establishing healthy and normalized eating patterns. You will see the dietitian for a nutrition assessment and weekly individual nutrition counseling sessions. Everyone will be served 2 meals and one snack during the program from a menu that is developed in collaboration between you and your dietitian to address your dietary needs.

Group therapy: The PHP program offers a comprehensive schedule of group therapy. Mealtime support therapy, body image group, dialectic behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, yoga, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), experiential group, creative expression group, boundaries and assertiveness group, and general process group are included to provide a total of 32.5 hours of group therapy per week.

Treatment team: White Stone Recovery Center uses a team approach to treatment. The team includes psychotherapists, a registered dietitian, and a psychiatrist. Progress is reviewed in treatment team meetings weekly and adjustments are made to the treatment plan as needed.

 

Other services offered but not included under PHP program

Medical Care: A complete medical evaluation and ongoing medical care is available by an MD who is board-certified in internal medicine. A medical evaluation includes any blood work, EKG, or other medical testing.

Family Therapy: Family therapy is available for immediate family or significant others outside PHP hours.

Psychiatry: A complete psychiatric evaluation by a MD who is board-certified in psychiatry is available. This includes screening for different mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, attention deficit disorders, and obtaining a developmental history. Medications for different disorders found during the assessment can be started.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Program Details:

Schedule: IOP operates 3 days per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Psychotherapy: Each patient is assigned a primary therapist who is responsible for facilitating weekly psychotherapy sessions and coordination of treatment.

Psychiatry: You will have access to medication management by an MD board-certified in psychiatry.

Nutritional Counseling: The nutrition program is meant to support you from disordered eating to a healthy relationship with food and to provide structure that promotes meeting treatment goals while gradually transitioning to eating with less support. The goal of nutritional counseling is maintaining stabilization and establishing healthy and normalized eating patterns. You will see the dietitian for a nutrition assessment and weekly individual nutrition counseling sessions. Everyone will be served a morning snack and lunch during the program from a menu that is supervised by the dietitian and has been designed to address your dietary needs.

Group therapy: The IOP program offers a comprehensive schedule of group therapy. Mealtime support therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, psycho-educational group, experiential group, body image group, and general process group are included to provide a total of 10 hours of group therapy per week.

Individual therapy: The IOP includes individual therapy with 1 session of nutritional counseling with a dietitian and 1 session of psychotherapy per week. If you are already in therapy, the treatment team will remain in close contact with your other providers. It is required that you sign a release of information to communicate with any outside providers.

Aftercare/discharge planning: Each patient will meet with the primary therapist throughout the length of the program to discuss aftercare and coordinate treatment for when the patient discharges.

Outpatient

The outpatient program is designed for those who have made progress toward their goals of treatment for their eating disorder and may be appropriate for those who have finished the program usually done still in a team approach and consists of seeing a dietitian for individual nutritional counseling, a psychotherapist for individual psychotherapy, and medication management with a psychiatric or primary care provider.
